Learn how to successfully make a pot on the potter’s wheel; centering clay and lifting and shaping it into cylinders and bowls along with decorating and glazing techniques. TALK: IN THE KINGDOM OF DEVILS, 5 p.m., Hynson Lounge, 300 Washington Ave., Washington College, Chestertown. The Washington College Department of History presents the Guy F. Goodfellow Memorial Lecture with Katherine Grandjean, associate professor of history at Wellesley College. Talk investigates the violent legacies of the revolution, especially in the southern borderlands of the early republic.

WRITERS’ GROUP, 5-6:30 p.m., Kent County Public Library, 408 High St., Chestertown branch. For all writers and aspiring writers.

SPAGHETTI DINNER WITH WILL HAYGOOD, 5:30 p.m., dinner, 6:30 p.m. presentations, Kent County Middle School, 402 E. Campus Ave., Chestertown. Fundraiser for basketball team. $8 for adults. $4 for children and children under the age of 5 eat for free. Haygood will be on hand to sign books and students also will give presentations.

ANNUAL COOPERATORS’ DINNER, 6 p.m., social; 7 p.m., dinner; Frank M. Jarman American Legion, 9155 American Legion Road, Chestertown. Hosted by the Kent Soil and Water Conservation District.
